New Leaf is building our staff team in order to better support the growth we’ve experienced over the last few years and will continue to build upon in the coming years. We are currently looking for a Program Manager. This is a part-time, salaried position for 18-24 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Manage partner relationships with custody, community drop-in, and school programs
- Set up new program partnerships* and manage partnership applications
- Oversee and evolve community outreach efforts in schools, custody, and community drop-in programs
- Develop and oversee youth intern opportunities
- Collaborate with Executive Director, Teaching Director and Research Committee on program-related research & evaluation efforts
- Liaise between program site admin/staff and ED; Collaborate closely with Teaching Director to ensure all program standards are met
- Coordinate & develop New Leaf offerings for staff at program sites
- Coordinate and build fee-for-service programming model
* Note, in year one this will be minimal as we have voted to pause onboarding new programs until at least 2017
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 2 years in a management position with priority given to experience in non-profit programming and youth-serving sectors
- Minimum 2 years experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs
- A proven ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships with other community-based organizations and leaders
- Context, knowledge, and understanding of the challenges and issues facing the youth and communities NL serves
- Youth program facilitation and coordination
- Familiarity with yoga and mindfulness practices
- Excellent computer skills and demonstrated familiarity using Word, Excel, Google Docs +, Spreadsheets, and Skype
Valued Qualities
- Experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds and communities within an anti-oppression framework
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and hours within Monday-Friday
- Access to reliable transportation; travel within the GTA and potentially beyond will be required
- Inviting of and responsive to feedback; Comfortable providing insight and feedback to the organization
- Dedication to compassionate, strength-based and transparent communication
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check (in case of contact with youth)

- 18-24 hours per week to start

- Remote + some shared office hours & meetings as needed; some travel required to program sites
- Candidate must be located in Toronto/GTA
