Still We Rise Gala

New Leaf Yoga Foundation invites you to attend our 3rd annual gala event in support of yoga and mindfulness programs for youth in marginalized communities

Motivated by a belief in the strength and creativity of youth, Still We Rise is a gala event that highlights the resiliency that burns bright in youth overcoming barriers.

This year’s gala will be held in a beautifully restored theatre venue, Capitol Event Theatre, and will feature the launch of a new short documentary film about our work. Hosted by Andre Talbot, CFL Grey Cup Champion, this evening will include music by DJ Romeo, former graduate of The Remix Project, special guest appearances from youth featured in the film, hors d’oeuvres catered by the youth culinary program at Bendale BTI (one of New Leaf’s program sites), cash bar, silent auction, and more!

How Your Support Makes a Difference

New Leaf Yoga Foundation is a true innovator, offering yoga and mindfulness-based programs to youth in some of the most stigmatized and least-served communities in Ontario since 2007.

Our organization is at a pivotal time of growth. In 2014-15, New Leaf offered 23 programs. At the start of the 2015 school year, we have grown to 28 programs, and have plans over the coming year to further increase our reach in high priority schools, as well as explore the need for our work within additional school boards and build more leadership opportunities for the youth we work with.

At this year’s event, our goal is to raise $50,000 to support the mental, emotional and physical well-being of young people who face barriers to accessing positive resources.
