ANNUAL REPORTS
New Leaf Yoga Foundation’s 2013/14 Annual Report
During the fiscal year from September 2013 to August 2014, New Leaf saw an expansion in our school-based programs including an offering for parents/guardians and their children, the launch of an additional drop-in program in Regent Park as well as new programs in 2 youth custody facilities. We connected with community through our first gala event, created a successful Indiegogo campaign that raised over $22,000 thanks to the support of more than 170 donors, and continued to nurture many community-based collaborations and outreach efforts.
New Leaf Yoga Foundation’s 2012 Annual Report
Our mission is to increase the accessibility of yoga to youth, especially those residing in marginalized communities, custody facilities, and who are facing barriers and stigmatization. We believe that youth possess the resiliency to face the challenges in front of them in positive ways, and that yoga and mindfulness tools can be methods through which that resiliency is cultivated.
Highlights in 2012 include celebrating the 5 year anniversary of our first project, creating a part-time employment position for a young person who has been through one of our programs, we formed a 3 year partnership with the Toronto District School Board and implemented a school year long program in 3 Regent Park schools, and more.
